Hickory Street GE24033 <br />Santa Ana, CA May 21, 2024 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 14 <br />GEOMAX Engineering, Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The site is considered geotechnically suitable for the construction of the <br />proposed additional dwelling unit provided the recommendations herein are considered <br />in the design and followed during construction. <br /> <br />Foundations <br /> The proposed one-story additional dwelling unit shall be supported on continuous <br />footings placed into stiff native soils <br /> The bearing capacity for continuous footings with a minimum width of 15 inches <br />and a minimum depth of 18 inches is 1,500 psf for native soils. The bearing value may <br />be increased 20 percent for each additional foot of depth or width to a maximum of <br />2,400 psf. <br />The bearing capacity allowed is for the total of dead and frequently applied live <br />loads and may be increased by one-third for short duration wind and seismic loading. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1022 S Hickory St <br />1/9/2025
