<br />KITCHEN SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH EXHAUST FAN DUCTED TO THE OUTSIDE WITH A MINIMUM VENTILATION RATE OF 110 CFM. THE
<br />RANGE HOOD OVER THE STOVE MAY BE USED TO MEET THIS REQUIREMENT, BUT THE RANGE HOOD MUST VENT TO THE OUTSIDE;
<br />RE-CIRCULATING RANGE HOODS CANNOT BE USED.

<br />SMOKE ALARMS:
<br />1.Where more than one smoke alarm is required to be installed within an individual dwelling or sleeping unit, the
<br />smoke alarms shall be interconnected in such a manner that the activation of one alarm will activate all of the
<br />alarms in the individual unit. The alarm shall be clearly audible in all bedrooms over background noise levels with
<br />all intervening doors closed. Per section R314.4 CRC-2022 and NFPA-72-2022.
<br />2.Smoke alarms shall receive their primary power from the building wiring provided that such wiring is served from
<br />a commercial source and shall be equipped with a battery backup. Smoke alarms with integral strobes that are
<br />not equipped with battery backup shall be connected to an emergency electrical system. Smoke alarms shall
<br />emit a signal when the batteries are low. Wiring shall be permanent and without a disconnecting switch other
<br />than as required for overcurrent protection. Per section R314.6 CRC-2022 and NFPA-72-2022.
<br />CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS:
<br />1.Carbon monoxide alarms shall be listed in accordance with UL 2034. Combination carbon monoxide and
<br />smoke alarms shall be listed in accordance with UL 217 and UL 2034. Per section R315.1 CRC-2022 and
<br />NFPA-72-2022.
<br />2.Carbon monoxide alarms in dwelling units shall be installed and maintained in accordance with the
<br />manufacturer's published instructions in the following locations: Outside of each separate sleeping area in
<br />the immediate vicinity of the bedrooms. On every occupiable level of a dwelling unit, including basements.
<br />Where a fuel-burning appliance is located within a bedroom or its attached bathroom, a carbon monoxide
<br />alarm shall be installed within the bedroom. Per section R315.3 CRC-2022 and NFPA-72-2022.
<br />ELECTRICAL RECEPTACLE OUTLETS, SWITCHES AND CONTROLS SHALL BE LOCATED NO MORE THAN 48” MEASURED FROM THE TOP OF
<br />THE OUTLET BOX AND NOT LESS THAN 15” MEASURED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE OUTLET BOX ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR. PER

<br />DOORBELL per R327.1.4
<br />Doorbell buttons or controls, when installed, shall not exceed 48 inches above exterior floor or landing,
<br />measured from the top of the doorbell button assembly. Where doorbell buttons integrated with other
<br />features are required to be installed above 48 inches measured from the exterior floor or landing, a
<br />standard doorbell button or control shall also be provided at a height not exceeding 48 inches above
<br />exterior floor or landing, measured from the top of the doorbell button or control.
<br />THE LOCATION OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE
<br />PANEL MUST BE APPROVED BY EDISON.
<br />AGING-IN-PLACE NOTE:
<br />Newly constructed residences subject to the requirements of the CRC must be designed for the following
<br />aging-in-place and fall prevention requirements. (R327)
<br />At least one bathroom on the entry level shall be provided with the following reinforcement for grab bars. (When
<br />there is no bathroom on the entry level at least one bathroom on the second or third floor of the dwelling shall
<br />comply with this section.)
<br />i. Reinforcement shall be solid lumber.
<br />ii. Reinforcement shall be not less than 2x8 nominal lumber.
<br />iii. Reinforcement shall be located between 32 inches and 39 ¼ inches above the finished floor flush with the wall
<br />framing.
<br />iv. Water closet reinforcement shall be installed on both side walls of the fixture, or one side wall and the back
<br />wall.
<br />v. Shower reinforcement shall be continuous where wall framing is provided.
<br />vi. Bathtub and combination bathtub/shower reinforcement shall be continuous on each end of the bathtub and the
<br />back wall.
<br />Additionally, back wall reinforcement for a lower grab bar shall be provided within the bottom edge located not
<br />more than 6 inches above the bathtub rim. See detail #5 sheet A-3.
<br />Electrical receptacle outlets, switches, and controls (including controls for heating ventilation and air conditioning)
<br />intended to be used by the occupants shall be located not more than 48 inches measured from the top of the
<br />outlet box and not less than 15 inches measured from the bottom of the outlet box above the finish floor.
