<br />NON-HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FOR RECYCLING, INCLUDING (AT A
<br />MINIMUM) PAPER, CORRUGATED CARDBOARD, GLASS, PLASTICS,
<br />ORGANIC WASTE, AND METALS, OR MEET A LAWFUL ENACTED LOCAL
<br />RECYCLING ORDINANCE, IF MORE RESTRICTIVE.
<br />EXCEPTION: RURAL JURISDICTIONS THAT MEET AND APPLY FOR
<br />THE EXEMPTION IN PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE SECTION
<br />42649.82(a)(2)(A) ET SEQ. ARE NOT REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE
<br />ORGANIC WASTE PORTION OF THIS SECTION.
<br />DIVISION 4.5 - ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (FIREPLACES)
<br />4.503.1 GENERAL
<br />ANY INSTALLED GAS FIREPLACE SHALL BE A DIRECT-VENTED
<br />SEALED-COMBUSTION TYPE. ANY INSTALLED WOOD STOVE OR
<br />PELLET STOVE SHALL COMPLY WITH U.S. EPA NEW SOURCE
<br />PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (NSPS) EMISSION LIMITS AS
<br />APPLICABLE, AND SHALL HAVE A PERMANENT LABEL INDICATING
<br />THEY ARE CERTIFIED TO MEET THE EMISSION LIMITS. WOOD
<br />STOVES, PELLET STOVES AND FIREPLACES SHALL ALSO COMPLY
<br />WITH LOCAL ORDINANCES.

<br />It is the clients responsibility prior to or during construction to notify the architect in writing
<br />of any perceived errors or omissions in the plans and specifications of which a contractor
<br />thoroughly knowledgeable with the building codes and methods of construction should
<br />reasonably be aware. Written instructions addressing such perceived errors or omissions
<br />shall be received from the architect prior to the client or clients subcontractors proceeding
<br />with the work. The client will be responsible for any defects in construction if these
<br />procedures are not followed.
