Project No. VP-6214-01
Verizon Wireless — Fisher Floral
2008, SP-117A) summarize procedures for evaluating the earthquake -
and liquefaction potential.
Liquefaction: The groundwater is deep, but the project site is w
CITY OF SANTA ANA
Planning and Building Agency
Approved
FOR PERMIT ISSUANCE
uced landslide
Master ID:
Date:
in the seismic
earthquake -induced liquefaction zone (CGS California Geologic Survey, Orange
quadrangle, released April 15, 1998). However, liquefaction potential is not considered to
be a concern, since it is unmanned development and not for human habitation (California
Geological Survey's Special Publication 117A, Public Resources Code Section 2621.6
(a) (2) and (e)). Hence, the liquefaction analysis has not been analyzed.
Induced Flooding: The site lies far and/or high enough from the coast or large inland
body of water to preclude the hazards of tsunami or seiche waves or inundation from the
rupture of an up gradient reservoir.
Landsliding: The site does not lie near the zone of landsliding and since the site is far
enough from steep slopes, landsliding will be unlikely.
Field Explorations
A power-augered hand boring was drilled to a depth of 11.5 feet as part of our subsurface
investigation. Approximate boring location is shown on Plot Plan and Boring Location
Map, Plate B-1 (Appendix A).
Undisturbed samples were secured for laboratory examination and testing. Disturbed bulk
samples, representative of the surficial subgrade materials, were also obtained as well.
A continuous record of the materials encountered during the drilling was made by our
field representative and is presented on Plate I-1, Log of Test Holes.
The lines designating the interface between soil strata on the log of Test Holes represent
approximate boundaries. The transition between strata may be gradual. Undisturbed
samples were secured at frequent intervals from various locations for laboratory testing.
5
