Project No. VP-6214-01
Verizon Wireless — Fisher Floral
The relative sampler penetration resistance exhibited by the soil
tabulated in the blows per foot column of the Log of Test Holes
Laboratory Testing
CITY OF SANTA ANA
Planning and Building Agency
9 may, lS.
Approved
FOR PERMIT ISSUANCE
encountered is
Master ID:
Date:
Laboratory testing was programmed following a review of field investigation data and
after considering the various foundations, and grading elements to be evaluated. In
general, this includes physical testing to establish foundation -bearing characteristics, and
selective classification tests.
A. Moisture and Density (ASTM D-2216)
In situ moisture content and density were determined for all the undisturbed core samples
obtained during test boring drilling operations. Test results are tabulated on Plate I-1, Log
of Test Hole.
B. Mechanical Analysis (ASTM D-422)
The texture composition of a selected typical sample determined by the hydrometer test
method was as follows:
Boring No.
Depth (ft)
Percent Sand
Percent Silt
Percent Clay
B-1
0-2
68
20
12
C. Direct Shear (ASTM D-3080)
Direct shear tests were performed on undisturbed soil samples encountered within the
upper layers and were considered most pertinent in the design of shallow
spread/continuous footings or pole/pier footings. All tests were performed at the
saturated -drained conditions. Individual test results are shown on Plate J.
D. Consolidation (ASTM D-2435)
Consolidation (load deformation) test was performed on selected undisturbed sample.
0
