Project No. VP-6214-01
Verizon Wireless — Fisher Floral
proposed project would not have an adverse impact on adjacent proper
recommendations contained in this report and applicable standards are
design and construction, and our recommended quality control measures
during construction.
Foundation Design Recommendations
Enclosure Wall
CITY OF SANTA ANA
Planning and Building Agency
Approved
FOR PERMIT ISSUANCE
s provided our
in
Enclosure walls may be supported by conventional continuous footing 18 inches wide
and 18-inches deep bearing on competent materials or newly compacted fill, and may be
designed for an allowable bearing value of 1,500 psf.
Based on test results, the underlying surface soils are non -expansive; therefore, special
measures will not be required for expansion potential. The subgrade for slab on grade
should be kept moist (optimum moisture) at top 12 inches and be incorporated with
reinforcement of #3 bars 12 inches center to center each way. The slab thickness should
be 5 inches minimum and shall be placed over approved subgrade.
Other aspects of the design, including minimum reinforcement, footing embedment,
additional posts and beams, and the need for interior footings, are to be determined by the
project structural engineer.
Equipment Cabinets & Generator Pads
Based on test results, the underlying surface soils are non -expansive, therefore, special
measures will not be required for expansion potential. However, the top 12 inches of soil
may be excavated and re -compacted back to at least 90% of ASTM D 1557 laboratory
Standard. The subgrade for slab on grade should be kept moist (optimum moisture) at
top 12 inches and be incorporated with reinforcement of #3 bars 18 inches center to
center each way. The slab thickness should be 4 inches minimum and shall be placed
over approved subgrade. It is highly recommended to remove tree roots during site
preparation.
9
