Backfill placed in narrow, restricted areas such as along utility tenches, may be <br />placed in 6- to 8-inches thick lifts, provided; the minimum required degree of <br />compaction is obtained. <br />4. Observation and testing of all compactions should be under the direction of the <br />Geotechnical Engineer. The Engineer should be notified at least two days in <br />advance of the start of the grading. <br />5. A pre -construction meeting between representatives of the contractor, the <br />governmental agencies, the geotechnical engineer, and the owner should be held at <br />the job site at the time equipment is at the site and work is about to commence. <br />The purpose of the meeting is to review the responsibilities of each member of the <br />team. <br />6. Any changed field conditions due to design changes, contractor -initiated <br />modifications, or soil conditions as observed when excavations are made, should <br />be brought to the attention of the geotechnical engineer. As a result of changed or <br />unanticipated conditions, further recommendations will be provided by the <br />geotechnical engineer. <br />Recommendations for Construction <br />Enclosure Wall Footing: Based upon our field investigation and study of the site, it is <br />undersigned's opinion that material will be excavatable and can be drilled with <br />conventional equipment and footings are subject to inspection by a geotechnical engineer <br />or geologist to assure proper embedment into competent material. <br />Surveying: The contractor shall set necessary stakes to verify lines and grades as shown <br />on the plan. <br />12 <br />
