CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br /> PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />8 <br />The Contractor’s Surveyor shall provide construction staking for project improvements. A copy <br />of the cut sheets shall be provided to the AGENCY for verification. Also a copy of all updated <br />control set by the Contractor’s Surveyor; showing coordinates, elevation, and description shall be <br />submitted, for quality management (as-built checks by Agency). <br />The AGENCY will provide construction plans and specifications for the project. Construction <br />stakes shall be set per the provided plans and specifications. The Contractor’s Surveyor shall <br />notify the AGENCY immediately of any discrepancy or design errors discovered on the plans <br />during staking or when verifying join points. <br />The Contractor’s Surveyor shall research existing County and City records for centerline survey <br />monuments within the project area. Prior to construction, all monuments shall be tied -out and a <br />Corner Record shall be recorded with the County Surveyor per Section 8771 of the Business and <br />Professions Code of the State of California. After completion of construction, any monument <br />disturbed or lost during construction shall be reset, in conformance with Section 8771. Each <br />centerline intersection shall be drawn on a single Corner Record. A copy of all Corner Records <br />shall be submitted to the AGENCY prior to a Notice of Completion being filed. <br />The Contractor is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly job site per Occupational Safety <br />and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. <br />The Contractor shall furnish traffic control as needed to provide a work area free of public and <br />construction traffic for construction staking. Traffic control shall conform to the requirements of <br />the “Watch Area Traffic Control Handbook” (WATCH). Payment for said work shall be <br />included in the other items of work and no additional compensation will be allowed. <br />3-11 CONTRACT INFORMATION SIGNS <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />Contractor shall furnish, install and maintain a project advertisement sign as detailed in the <br />Appendix of the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall install the project advertisement sign <br />during construction in the location approved by the Engineer. The maintenance includes <br />replacement (if damaged due to the operations of the Contractor) and graffiti removal. <br />3-12 WORK SITE MAINTENANCE <br />3-12.1 General <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />The contractor shall keep the work site clean and free from rubbish and debris at the end of every <br />working day. In addition, the Contractor shall be fully responsible for removing any graffiti <br />placed on new improvements or Contractor’s equipment daily immediately at the start of the <br />work day. <br />The City of Santa Ana has adopted an ordinance to assist the City in complying with the State of <br />California’s Assembly Bill 939 law which requires that all cities and counties in the State reduce <br />the amount of trash disposed of in landfills by 50%. Failure to comply with State law could <br />result in a fine to the City of $10,000 per day. <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
