In any areas where existing conditions cannot be determined by means of videos, the areas shall be restored as approved by the Engineer at the Contractor’s expense. All videos shall become the property of the City. Payment for mobilization shall be considered as included in the other items of work and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore. 7-4 PAYMENT FOR EXTRA WORK 7-4.1 General Add the following to this subsection: For such extra work the contractor shall receive payment as agreed upon in writing, or shall be paid on force account. Work involving contract unit prices, the contractor shall not exceed any of the quantities in the proposal unless prior authorization from the engineer is obtained in writing. 7-4.3 Markup 7-4.3.1 Work by the Contractor The following supersedes the provisions of this subsection: The following percentages shall be added to the Contractor's costs and shall constitute the markup for all overhead and profits: 1) Labor ............................................................ 20% 2) Materials ...................................................... 15% 3) Equipment Rental......................................... 15% 4) Other Items and Expenditures ...................... 15% To the sum of the costs and markups provided for in this subsection, 1 percent shall be added as compensation for bonding. 7-4.3.2 Work by the Subcontractor The following supersedes the provisions of this subsection: When all or any part of the extra work is performed by a Subcontractor, the markup established in 3-3.2.2(a) shall be applied to the Subcontractor’s actual cost of such work. A markup of 10 percent on the first $5,000 of the subcontracted portion of the extra work and a markup of 5 percent on work added in excess of $5,000 of the subcontracted portion of the extra work may be added by the Contractor.
