CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />38 <br />All valve box frame and covers shall require PCC collars and shall be adjusted to finished <br />grade following paving operations. <br />PCC pavement for gate collars shall conform to Sections 400, 200, 201, and 302 of the <br />Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br />PCC used for gate collars construction shall be minimum class 560-A-3250. In addition <br />to these minimum requirements, the concrete shall possess the following characteristics: <br /> Flexural strength at 28 days: 550 p.s.i. min. <br /> Flexural strength at 7 days: 430 p.s.i. min. <br /> Compressive strength at 7 days: 2500 p.s.i. min. <br />All cement to be used or furnished on this Project shall be Type II low alkaline Portland <br />Cement conforming to ASTM C150. <br />At any locations where the existing riser sleeve between the valve box and the valve- <br />operating nut is a 6” diameter pipe or smaller, the Contractor shall excavate and replace it <br />with an 8” diameter SCH. 40 PVC pipe. Backfill around riser pipe shall be compacted to <br />90 percent relative compaction. The riser sleeve shall be kept clean and free of dirt or <br />debris to provide clear access to the valve-operating nut. <br />AGENCY Manholes <br />AGENCY utility manhole frames and covers shall be adjusted to grade with PCC collar <br />in accordance with the respective Standard Plans. <br />The Contractor shall cooperate with the owners of any frames and covers and shall cover <br />and completely protect said frames and covers with heavy plastic or other suitable <br />material. <br />1.19 PULVERIZE & CEMENT-TREAT EXISTING ASPHALT CONCRETE, BASE, AND <br />SUBGRADE <br />General <br />This work shall conform to the Standard Specifications Section 301-3 “PORTLAND <br />CEMENT TREATED MIXTURES” and consist of pulverizing existing asphalt concrete <br />surfacing & underlying base materials, mixing with Portland cement & water, spreading <br />& compacting, and grading & curing the mixture to conform to the requirements <br />specified. <br />Materials <br />Existing asphalt concrete surfacing shall be ripped and pulverized with underlying base <br />materials and subgrade soil to the specified depths and widths in conformance to the <br />Project Plans and Special Provisions. <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
