SAMPLES OF THE NATIVE SOIL shall be submitted to the soils testing laboratory <br />after rough grading and prior to soil preparation. For bidding purposes, the Contractor <br />shall provide the following soil amendments for soil preparation and backfill mix: <br />1. Soil preparation per 1,000 s.f. of planting area: <br />a. 4 cubic yards Nitrolized Redwood Sawdust <br />b. 200 lbs. Gro Power <br />c. 20 lbs. Soil Sulphur <br />2. Backfill Mix: <br />a. 6 parts by volume on-site soil <br />b. 4 parts by volume Nitrolized Redwood Sawdust <br />c. 18 lb. Gro Power per cu. yd. of mix <br />d. 2 lbs. Iron Sulphate per cubic yard of mix <br />EXECUTION: <br />5.02.15 EXAMINATION <br />A. VERIFICATION OF CONDITIONS: Inspect and accept the condition of the site <br />relative to this Section before commencing Work. If not acceptable, notify the Owner <br />in writing. By proceeding with the Work of this Section, the Contractor indicates his <br />acceptance of previous related work. <br />B. LANDSCAPE WORK SHALL NOT BEGIN until construction adjacent to planting <br />areas has been completed and irrigation systems have been installed and approved by <br />Engineer. <br />5.02.16 PREPARATION <br />A. PROTECTION: <br />1. Provide necessary safeguards and exercise caution against injury or defacement of <br />existing site improvements. <br />2. Be responsible for any damage resulting from landscape planting operations. <br />Repair damage and return the area to the previous condition at no cost to the <br />Owner. <br />5.02.17 WEED CONTROL <br />A. PRE-PLANTING HERBICIDE: Apply to visible weeds, before and after soil <br />placement. <br />B.
