AFTER APPLICATION OF WEED KILLER, before and during preliminary and <br />finish grading, remaining weeds and grasses shall be dug out by the roots and <br />disposed of off-site. Weeds and grasses not of the perennial type, less than 2-1/2 <br />inches high and not bearing seed, may be turned under. Perennial weeds and <br />grasses to be removed include, but are not limited to the following: <br />1. Nut Grass. <br />2. Alfalfa. <br />3. St. Augustine. <br />4. Puncture Vine. <br />5. Kikuya Grass. <br />6. Mustard Plant. <br />7. Johnson Grass. <br />8. Wirewood. <br />9. Morning Glory. <br />5.02.18 SOIL PREPARATION <br />A. CROSS-RIP on grade planting areas to a depth of 10 to 12 inches in two directions <br />B. BROADCAST the organic soil amendments uniformly over surface of the area to be <br />treated. Roto-till the top 6 inches of planting areas to evenly distribute the <br />amendments and conditioners into the soil. <br />C. MOISTURE CONTENT: The soil shall not be worked when the moisture content is <br />so great that excessive compaction will occur, not when it is so dry that dust will form <br />in the air. Water shall be applied, if necessary, to provide ideal moisture conditions. <br />5.02.19 PLANTING OPERATIONS <br />A. FINISH GRADING: Prior to commencement of planting operations, complete finish <br />grading as specified below. <br />When preliminary grading, including weeding and fertilizing has been completed and <br />the soil has dried sufficiently to be readily worked, planting areas shall be graded to <br />uniform levels or slopes at a minimum of 2 percent. Minor adjustments to finish <br />grades shall be made in the direction of the water. Low spots and pockets shall be <br />graded to drain properly. Finish grade of planting areas shall be one inch below <br />graded to drain properly, Finish grade of planting areas shall be one inch below grade <br />of adjacent pavement. Grading shall be done when soil is at optimum moisture <br />content for working. Planting areas shall be scarified to a depth of 3 inches below <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
