Stakes and guys are to be inspected to prevent girdling of trunks or branches and to prevent rubbing that causes bark wounds. Replace all broken stakes and ties with specified materials. E. REPLACEMENT OF PLANTS: Immediately remove any dead or dying plants not in a vigorous thriving condition. Replacement shall be same species and size as what was originally planted. 5.03.07 GROUNDCOVER CARE A. WEED CONTROL: Control weeds, with chemical systemic spray or by mechanical means so as to cause minimal damage to planted materials. B. WATERING: Water enough that moisture penetrates throughout the root zone and only as frequently as necessary to maintain healthy growth. C. FERTILIZING: Fertilize as specified under Tree and Shrub care D. EDGING: Edge ground cover to keep in bounds and trim top growth as necessary to achieve an overall even appearance. E.
