CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />174 <br />The Sand Equivalent requirement of Section 200-1.5.3 shall be replaced with the <br />following: <br />Tests Test Method Requirements <br /> <br />Sand Equivalent California 227 <br />Individual Test 70 min <br />Moving Average 75 min <br />Evaluation of Sand Equivalent and Cleanness Value results shall conform to the <br />provisions of Standard Specifications Subsection 400-1.4. <br />Concrete shall be high early strength concrete, treated in accordance with section <br />201-1 to obtain (7) day compressive strength in (3) days. <br />Traverse joints shall match those of the adjacent pavement. The concrete pavement shall <br />be immediately barricaded upon its installation and no vehicular traffic will be permitted <br />until and after 3-days of placement and with the approval of the Engineer. <br />7.09 DUCTILE IRON WATER MAIN PIPE AND APPURTENANCES <br />Underground conduit construction shall conform to all applicable Subsections of Section <br />306 of the Standard Specifications, and with City of Santa Ana Design Criteria, Standard <br />Plans and these Special Provisions. <br />Installation shall be in conformance with American Water Works Association (AWWA) <br />Standard C151 and the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association (DIPRA) "Guide for the <br />Installation of Ductile Iron Pipe" and the manufacturer's recommendations. <br />All ductile iron pipe and fittings shall be manufactured in accordance with all applicable <br />requirements of ASTM, ANSI/AWWA Standards and Specifications. <br />For pipe sizes four (4) inches to twelve (12) inches in diameter, the ductile iron pipe shall <br />be Pressure Class 350. For 16-inches in diameter and larger, the ductile iron pipe shall be <br />Pressure Class 250. <br />The interior of the pipe and fittings shall be lined with cement-mortar per AWWA C-104. <br />Lining shall be the double thickness, listed in AWWA C-104, Section 4.8. Lining <br />materials shall conform to ASTM C-150, Type II. <br />Exterior surfaces of pipe and fittings shall be coated with asphaltic material in <br />conformance with AWWA C-110 and AWWA C-151. The coating shall be free from <br />blisters and holes; shall adhere to the metal surfaces at ambient temperatures encountered <br />in the field. <br />Ductile iron fittings shall conform to AWWA C110 or C153. All pipe and fittings shall <br />have a bituminous coating in accordance with AWWA C151 and C110. <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
