CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: XX-XXXX <br />PROJECT TITLE <br /> <br />187 <br />Section 302-6.4.4 entitled "Final Finishing" of the Standard Specifications shall be <br />modified as follows: <br />Delete all reference to wetted burlap. Final finish of the surface shall be textured <br />by stiff broom process that will produce scoring perpendicular to the centerline of <br />the street, performed at a time and in a manner to produce a hardened surface <br />have a coefficient of friction of not less than 0.38 as determined by California <br />Test 342. Curing to be applied immediately following broom process. <br />Concrete shall be high early strength concrete, treated in accordance with section <br />201-1 to obtain (7) day compressive strength in (3) days. <br />The concrete shall be immediately protected upon its installation and no vehicular traffic <br />will be permitted thereon for the next (3) days <br />7.14 BUTTERFLY VALVES <br />Butterfly valves shall conform to the City's Standard Specifications and AWWA C504. <br />Butterfly valves shall be rated at 150 psi working pressure and hydrostatically tested at <br />200 psi. All valves shall be factory epoxy lined and coated. Epoxy lining shall be 15 <br />mils of keysite 740. All work shall conform to City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No. <br />1411. <br />All butterfly valves shall be rubber seated in accordance with ANSI/AWWA C504-87. <br />Valve shafts shall be stainless steel ASTM 276, Type 304. All buried valves shall have <br />operators specifically designed for buried service. These operators shall be lubricated for <br />the life of the valve. Buried valves shall be installed in accordance with City of Santa <br />Ana Standard Plan No. 1411. <br />Butterfly valves shall be Pratt, Mueller, M & H or approved equivalent. <br />Opening Direction: Valves shall open by turning counterclockwise. <br /> <br />4-inch through 20-inch butterfly valves shall have gear actuators of the “traveling nut <br />type”. Traveling nut actuators shall be furnished on all valves in this size range unless <br />torque or pressure conditions dictate a “worm gear type”. <br /> <br />Traveling nut type actuators shall withstand 450 foot pounds of input torque against the <br />stop limiting devices without causing damage. Signed factory compliance shall <br />accompany submittals stating that these specifications and applicable standards have been <br />adhered to. <br /> <br />All exposed threaded parts, including cap screws, case bolts, carriage bolts, cover screws, <br />machine screws, set screws, bonnet bolts on the housing or any other exterior location on <br />the actuator, its cover or housing shall be Type 316 stainless steel. <br /> <br />Travel nut gear actuators shall be Prat MDT, Mueller MDT, or approved equal. <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
