Delhi Community Center Library Renovation 9/29/2023 <br />Santa Ana, California <br /> <br /> <br /> 01 40 00 - 2 Quality Requirements <br />1.5 TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES AND INSPECTIONS <br />A. Testing laboratory services and inspections specified and required by applicable <br />codes and regulations will be performed by firms independent of firms related to <br />construction operations and shall be acceptable to applicable authorities. <br />1. Notify Owner immediately where potential conflict of interest may be involved <br />with testing laboratories or inspection services for Project. <br />2. Owner or Architect may also require independent testing of items where doubts <br />exist that product or system does not conform to Contract Documents. <br />3. Owner will employ and pay for testing laboratory and special inspectors to <br />provide Project specific testing and inspections under applicable codes and <br />Specification sections except where indicated otherwise. <br />a. Owner employment of testing laboratory and inspectors shall not relieve <br />Contractor of obligation to perform Work in accordance with requirements of <br />applicable codes and Contract Documents. <br />1) Laboratory and inspectors may not release, revoke, alter, or enlarge on <br />requirements of Contract Documents. <br />b. Retesting required because of non-conformance to specified requirements <br />shall be performed by Owner's testing laboratory. <br />1) Payment for retesting shall be charged to Contractor by deducting <br />inspection and testing charges from Contract amount. <br />c. Owner provided testing shall be limited to Project specific testing and shall <br />not include general tests or approvals of materials, equipment or systems. <br />d. Owner provided inspections shall be limited to Project design team <br />inspections and special inspectors required by applicable authorities. <br />B. Services shall be performed in accordance with requirements of governing authorities <br />and with specified standards. <br />C. DSA Projects: Testing and inspections shall be performed in accordance with DSA <br />103 Form. <br />D. Reports will be submitted to Architect in duplicate giving observations and results of <br />tests and inspections, indicating compliance or non-compliance with specified <br />standards and with Contract Documents. <br />1. Where required, testing laboratory and inspectors will submit copy of tests and <br />inspections directly to enforcing agency. <br />505 E Central Ave <br />#B11/6/2024
