Delhi Community Center Library Improvements 10/13/2023 <br />Santa Ana, California SUBMITTAL <br /> <br /> <br /> 01 56 39 - 3 Temporary Tree and Plant Protection <br />3.3 TREE PRUNING <br />A. Promptly repair trees damaged by construction operations within 24 hours. Treat <br />damaged trunks, limbs, and roots according to written instructions of the qualified arborist. <br />B. Root prune existing street trees to prevent sidewalk and curb damage. <br />C. Prune remaining trees to compensate for root loss caused by damaging or cutting <br />root system. Provide subsequent maintenance during Contract period as recommended <br />by qualified arborist. <br />D. Pruning Standards: Prune trees according to ANSI A300 as follows: <br />1. Crown cleaning. <br />2. Crown thinning. <br />3. Crown reduction. <br />3.4 TREE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT <br />A. Promptly repair trees damaged by construction operations within 24 hours. Treat <br />damaged trunks, limbs, and roots according to written instructions of the qualified <br />arborist. <br />B. Remove and replace dead and damaged trees that the qualified arborist determines <br />to be incapable of restoring to a normal growth pattern. <br />C. Provide new trees of the same size and species as those being replaced; plant and <br />maintain as specified in Division 2 Section "Planting. <br />3.5 SOIL AERATION <br />A. Aerate surface soil compacted during construction, 10 feet beyond drip line and no <br />closer than 36 inches to tree trunk. Drill 2-inch- diameter holes a minimum of 12 <br />inches deep at 24 inches on center. Backfill holes with an equal mix of augured soil <br />and sand. <br />3.6 DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIALS <br />A. Burning is not permitted. <br />B.
