Typical floor levels are post-tensioned reinforced
concrete slabs to minimize slab thickness, supported by concrete gravity columns. Lateral stability
of the Hotel Building is provided by a core of special shear walls, with one additional special
concrete shear wall provided at the Hotel tower South face and a second shear wall at the East
perimeter of the expanded floor plates at the first few floors above grade. The ground floor slab
under each tower and Sycamore Street, and the one-story below-grade basement ‘podium’ are
reinforced concrete construction.
Main structural components are listed in the summary Table 1.2-1.
Diagrammatic graphics highlight the division between the Residential Building and Hotel Building
in Figures 1.2-1 and 1.2-2.
