Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Special Conditions <br />and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br /> <br /> <br />1.02 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. This Section includes the following <br /> <br />1. Demolition and removal of site improvements and all other related contiguous <br />improvements as required. Refer to Contract Drawings for items and location. <br />2. Demolition, dismantling, cutting and alterations as indicated, specified, and required for <br />completion of the Contract; for new construction, modernization and rehabilitation <br />projects, as applicable. Includes items such as the following: <br /> 1. Protecting existing work to remain. <br /> 2. Salvageable items to be retained. <br /> 3. Cleaning soiled materials that are to remain. <br /> 4. Disconnecting and capping utilities. <br /> 5. Removing debris and equipment. <br /> 6. Removal of items indicated on drawings. <br /> <br /> B. Demolition of Existing Building Foundations <br /> 1. Demolition and removal of all existing building foundations, footings, slabs, retaining <br />walls, etc. shall be carried in a careful and orderly manner, and according to all <br />applicable codes and regulations for demolition of structures, safety of adjacent <br />structures, dust control and disposal of materials. <br /> 2. Sprinkle Work with water to minimize dust. Provide hoses and water connections for <br />that purpose. <br /> <br /> D. Demolition and Removal of Pavements <br /> 1. Markup all existing utilities on site. <br /> 2. Sawcut all Concrete Pavements, as indicated on Drawings. <br /> 3. Remove all indicated pavements, walkways, curb and gutter, concrete ditches, <br />landscape areas, etc. <br /> 4. Protect all manhole and valve covers, lids, vaults and other site fixtures, marked to <br />remain. <br /> <br />E. Related Sections: The following Sections contain requirements that relate to this Section: <br />1. Sections for “Photographic Documentation”, “Special Environmental Procedures”, <br />”Temporary Facilities”, “Tree and Plant Protection”, “Cutting and Patching” as applicable. <br />2.
