Buildings immediately adjacent to demolition area will be occupied. Conduct building <br />demolition so operations of occupied buildings will not be disrupted. <br /> 1. Provide not less than 72 hours' notice of activities that will affect operations of adjacent <br />occupied buildings. <br /> 2. Maintain access to existing walkways, exits, and other facilities used by occupants of <br />adjacent buildings. Do not close or obstruct walkways, exits, or other facilities used by <br />occupants of adjacent buildings without written permission from owner. <br /> <br />D. Contractor to obtain all necessary encroachment and excavation permits from the local <br />jurisdiction of authority for demolition of existing improvements in public right-of-way. <br /> <br />1.08 SCHEDULING <br /> <br />A. Arrange demolition schedule so as not to violate city construction ordinances. <br />B. Arrange demolition schedule with Owner. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 SOIL MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Requirements for satisfactory soil materials are specified in Division 31 Section "Earthwork”. <br />Refer to the Geotechnical Investigation Report, dated June 21, 2024 prepared by Geotechnical <br />Solutions, Inc., for site soil requirements <br />1. Obtain approved borrow soil materials off-site when sufficient satisfactory soil materials <br />are not available on-site. <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br /> <br />A. Verify that utilities have been disconnected and capped. Test lines as required. <br />B. Survey existing conditions and correlate with requirements indicated to determine extent of <br />demolition required. <br />C. Inventory and record the condition of items to be removed and reinstalled and items to be <br />removed and salvaged. <br />D. Survey existing conditions of the improvements such as light standards and trees to determine <br />the best method(s) for removal so as not to cause potential damage to persons and property <br />during the course of removal. <br />E. Perform surveys as the Work progresses to detect hazards resulting from demolition activities. <br /> <br />3.02 UTILITY SERVICES <br /> <br />A. Maintain existing utilities indicated to remain in service and protect them against damage <br />during demolition operations. <br />1. Do not interrupt existing utilities serving occupied or operating facilities on or off the <br />property, except when authorized in writing by Owner and authorities having jurisdiction.
