BARBARA CATHOLIC SCHOOL TASK 2 75-24272-01 <br />DIOCESE OF ORANGE SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2024 <br />SANTA ANA, CA BID & PERMIT SET <br /> <br />FINISH GRADING 312219 - 2 <br />PART 3 - PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />C. Verification of conditions: Prior to commencing the finish grading, review the installed work of <br />other trades and verify that their work is complete. <br />1. Rough Grading: Grading in planting areas (except raised planter areas) shall be <br />established to within plus or minus 0.10 foot prior to beginning of finish grading. <br />D. Import topsoil only when necessary to supplement site soil to achieve grades shown on <br />drawings, or if site soil is unsuitable for planting. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />E. Weeding: Before finish grading, weeds and grasses shall be dug out by the root or sprayed with <br />an herbicide and disposed of off-site. This procedure is outlined under the Landscape Planting <br />Section. <br /> <br />F. Debris: Remove stones and debris 1 inch in diameter and greater and clumps of earth that do not <br />break up. Dispose of off-site. <br />3.3 INSTALLATION <br />G. General: When rough grading and weeding have been completed, and the soil has dried <br />sufficiently to be readily worked, lawn and planting areas shall be graded to the elevations <br />indicated on the Drawings. <br />1. Grades indicated on Drawing are grades that will result after thorough settlement and <br />compaction of the soil. <br />2. Grades not otherwise indicated shall be uniform finish grades and, if required, shall be <br />made at the direction of the Architect. <br />3. Finish grades shall be smooth, even, and a uniform plane with no abrupt change of <br />surfaces. <br />4. Soil areas adjacent to buildings shall slope away from the building to allow a natural run- <br />off of water, and surface drainage shall be directed as indicated on the drawings by <br />remodeling surfaces to facilitate the run off water at 2% minimum grade. <br />5. Low spots and pockets shall be graded to drain properly. <br />H. Drainage: Finish grade with proper slope to drains. <br />6. Flow lines, designated or not, shall be graded and maintained to allow free flow of <br />surface water. <br />7. If any drainage problems arise during construction period due to Contractor's work (such <br />as, but not limited to, low spots, slides, gullies and general erosion), the Contractor shall
