Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br /> <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. This Section includes the following: <br />1. Hot-mix asphalt paving. <br />2. Hot-mix asphalt patching. <br />3. Hot-mix asphalt overlays. <br />4. Asphalt surface treatments: <br />a. Fog seals. <br />b. Slurries. <br />5. Pavement-marking paint. <br /> <br />B. Related Sections include the following: <br />1. Section 312000 "Earthwork" for aggregate subbase and base courses and aggregate <br />pavement shoulders. <br />2. Section 321313 “Concrete Paving” for pavement marking on portland cement concrete <br />pavement and herbicide treatment under portland cement concrete paving. <br />3. Section 321723 "Painted Pavement Marking" for pavement marking requirements. <br /> <br />1.3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />A. Provide hot-mix asphalt pavement according to the materials, workmanship, and other <br />applicable requirements of the standard specifications of the state or of authorities having <br />jurisdiction. <br />1. Reference Specification: Perform all work in accordance with applicable provisions of <br />"Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction", Latest Edition. Unless <br />otherwise noted, mention herein of section numbers refers to sections of the Reference <br />Specification. Where Reference Specification refers to "Agency", substitute the word <br />"Owner". Where Reference Specification refers to "Engineer", substitute the word <br />"Architect". Where Reference Specification is in conflict with these Specifications, <br />these Specifications shall govern. <br />2. Measurement and payment provisions and safety program submittals included in <br />Reference Specifications do not apply to this Section. <br /> <br />1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> <br />A. Product Data: For each product specified. Include technical data and tested physical and <br />performance properties. <br /> <br />B. Job-Mix Designs: Certification, by authorities having jurisdiction, of approval of each job <br />mix proposed for the Work. <br /> <br />C. Job-Mix Designs: For each job mix proposed for the Work. <br /> <br />D. Shop Drawings: Indicate pavement markings, lane separations, and defined parking spaces. <br />Indicate dedicated handicapped spaces with international graphics symbol.
