<br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION
<br />THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF AN EXTERIOR RESTORATION AND
<br />REHABILITATION OF THE 1928 FIRE STATION DESIGNED BY LOCAL SANTA ANA
<br />ARCHITECT FREDERICK ELEY. THE BUILDING IS A DESIGNATED HISTORIC
<br />RESOURCE FOR THE CITY OF SANTA ANA.
<br />EXTERIOR WORK WILL INCLUDE THE REMOVAL OF THE NON-CONTRIBUTING
<br />AND NON-ORIGINAL CAR PORT AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING AND RETURN
<br />THE BUILDING TO ITS ORIGINAL FOOTPRINT. THE FRONT ENTRY ENGINE BAYS
<br />ARE TO BE RETURNED TO THE ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION INCLUDING
<br />RECREATING THE DOUBLE DOORS IN EACH BAY. THE PROJECT WILL
<br />PRESERVE, REPAIR, AND RESTORE THE ORIGINAL CLAY TILE ROOF, STUCCO
<br />EXTERIOR, INLAID DECORATIVE TILES, DECORATIVE IRON WORK, AND DOORS
<br />AND WINDOWS.
<br />INTERIOR WORK WILL CONSIST OF ADDING NEW ACCESSIBLE AND CODE
<br />COMPLIANT RESTROOMS AND INTERIOR SPACES FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH
<br />PROGRAMS AND TUTORING AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE.
