Testing agency to prepare survey report indicating locations of initial <br />discontinuities, if any. <br />2. Obtain written approval of successful testing from the Architect for each area <br />before installing subsequent system layers. Any areas covered with subsequent <br />layers prior to receiving approval are subject to rejection. <br />C. Manufacturer's Field Service: Engage a site representative qualified by waterproofing <br />system manufacturer to inspect substrate conditions, surface preparation, membrane <br />application, flashings, protection, and drainage components and to furnish daily reports <br />to Architect. <br />1. Testing agency to verify thickness of waterproofing during application for each <br />600 sq. ft. of installed waterproofing or part thereof. <br />2. Final Inspection: Arrange for waterproofing system manufacturer's technical <br />personnel to inspect system installation on completion, in presence of Architect, <br />and to prepare inspection report. <br />3. Notify Architect and Owner 48 hours in advance of date and time of inspection. <br />4. Repair or remove and replace components of waterproofing system where <br />inspections indicate that they do not comply with specified requirements. <br />D. Additional Tests and Inspections: <br />1. Additional testing and inspecting, at Contractor's expense, will be performed to <br />determine if replaced or additional work complies with specified requirements. <br />2. Waterproofing system will be considered defective if it does not pass tests and <br />inspections. <br />E. Prepare test and inspection reports. <br />3.9 PROTECTION, REPAIR, AND CLEANING <br />A. Immediately remove and clean fluid-applied waterproofing materials from surfaces not <br />intended to receive the materials. <br />B. Protect waterproofing system from damage and wear during remainder of construction <br />period. <br />C. Protect installed protection course and composite drainage from damage due to UV <br />light, harmful weather exposures, physical abuse, and other causes. Provide temporary <br />coverings where material is subject to abuse and cannot be concealed and protected <br />by permanent construction immediately after installation. <br />D. Correct deficiencies in or remove waterproofing system that does not comply with <br />requirements, repair substrates, and repair or reinstall waterproofing system to a <br />condition free of damage and deterioration at time of Substantial Completion and in <br />accordance with warranty requirements. <br />E. Clean spillage and soiling from adjacent construction using cleaning agents and <br />procedures recommended in writing by manufacturer of affected construction. <br />F. Remove and dispose of all temporary materials used to protect adjacent work and <br />surrounding areas. <br />END OF SECTION 07 1416
