Concrete Spalls: Remove loose, spalled, delaminated concrete and patch concrete
with custom concrete patching mortar. Perform spall repairs on the following types of
concrete spalls:
a. Type 1: Minor Surface Spalling (avg. ¼ - 1 – 1/2 in. deep, no reinforcing
present). Remove loose, spalled, and delaminated concrete. Patch prepared
spall with a concrete patching mortar.
b. Type 2: Surface Spalling (avg. ¼ - 2 in. deep, rebar corrosion). Remove loose,
spalled, and delaminated concrete. Expose corroded steel reinforcement
(rebar). Mechanically clean rebar to remove all rust back to sound material.
Coat rebar with rust inhibiting coating. Patch prepared spall with a concrete
patching mortar.
c.
