6.2 <br />Our Job 81-20-00 age <br />Contractor <br />testing by <br />CO}'{PACT I ON <br />to adhere to these limi tations subj ect to <br />the Cons u1 t ant . <br />Fi11 material shal1 be compacted to a dry density <br />which is within the range specified in the int,estigation <br />report. This report will also specify the laboratoiy com- <br />paction test standard used to determine the acceptable 1eve1 <br />of compaction. <br />It shall be the direct responsibility of the Con- <br />tractor to regulate the thickness of 1ifts, the amount of <br />mixing, and the adding or removal of moisture to achieve the <br />optimun compaction. <br />When testing indicates the density of any layer of <br />fill or portion thereof is below the required relative com- <br />paction, or inproper soil moisture is evident, the Particular <br />layer or portion sha11 be reworked until the required density <br />and/or moisture content has been attained. No additional fill <br />shall be placed over the deficient area until the deficient <br />fill has been reworked, tested and found to meet the density and <br />moisture requirements and that lift approved by the Consultant ' <br />If work is interruPted by heavy rains, fill <br />operations shal1 not be resuned until inspection and testing <br />by the Consultant indicates the moisture content and density <br />of-the fill are within the limits previously specified.
