Councilmember Benavides, noted city is in a difficult position, spirit of previous <br />agreement indicated no use from general funds, benefits of having school in <br />Santa Ana, and need to look for ways to stand behind Mater Dei High School <br />Opined some of the improvements requested would be something the City <br />would have to prepare for anyway and improvements would benefit residents <br />and community. <br />Councilmember Villegas, opined drug use on adjacent lot must be addressed, <br />residents looking forward to having parking structure, and need to find a way to <br />work together. <br />Mayor Pulido, opined City of Santa Ana has historically supported private and <br />public sector education, addition of value to community, and Mater Dei project <br />enhances neighborhood. Noted Bristol Street widening project contingency <br />funds may be used at the discretion of the city and possibility of using <br />contingency funds towards project. <br />MOTION; <br />1. Direct staff to bring back in two weeks options to fund public <br />improvements supporting the Mater Dei High School parking structure <br />expansion project. <br />2.
