CSG PaoPMALTO SANtA ANA <br />WE ONE PRWwT <br />PROJECT SPECIFIC APPROACH <br />CSG has examined the Request for proposal. (W.l and. understands that the City of Santa Ana Is seeking firms <br />to design the futile One Street Project. Primarily, the project Involves a Complete Street Design concept with <br />emphasize to ensure safety, accessibility, and convenience of alltrsnspprtatlonosers—padestrtans, <br />bicyclists, transit riders, and motorists are considered. Mile One Street is a six-0ana.arterial (2 lanes in each <br />direction) with a 14' wide median island to design for a bike lane with 4' buffer to be added In the east -bound <br />direction, The addition of bicycle lanes will improve bicycle connectivity, and increase bicycle travelan Mile <br />one Street and hl the surroundingarea. <br />To accommodate abikelaneconcept into the design the following bullets wilt be analyzed and will be <br />reported to the City's ft <br />4 Roadway reeonfiguratien (narrowing of lanes; new roadway striping) <br />s Roadway resurfacing treatm®nts (slurry anal, onto be determined pavement rehabilitation) <br />+ Careen Bike lanes (typically near intersections, or in otherwise higWconfiict aroas) <br />+ Bike buffers, as space allows <br />ii Bicycle o, edvotian (Including: modifications to existing traffic signal hardware, now inductive loops, <br />and/orvideo detection for bicyclists and •motorists) <br />M0.00cat(on of'existingeoncrete median islands and curbs <br />• Installation of related signage <br />e Modifications toparking <br />CSG has prepared table A (provided on the following page) to show a<matrixof existing conditions and <br />potential Improvements that will be considered for each road segment. The.addition of Bike Lane on east side <br />of the street, with no reduction in the number of lanes, and possibly removal of on -street parking, <br />Note.
