Perforin Aquifer P.umpf ng Tests <br />Imorder to eva)uata the current health of the well., <br />and to provide a-basallhe from which to: measuro the <br />effectiveness of the Phase 11 Work, aquifer pumptng;tasts <br />should be porfprmad. These tests. Will provide currant <br />well and aglil%r cMaracterlstfcs along with providing <br />sand readings ovartime,from start of Pumping- .Recovery <br />measurements should be collected for 8minimum of tyle <br />(2) hours following the constant rate pumping test. The <br />racoMmended aquifer purrtpingtests are as tallows: <br />Step Drawdown Pumping Tests -to determine specific <br />oapaattyrtnd Wel(.effiGlancy relatiQnsh)pe. 1APIPelly <br />three to four rates areseiected for puMping beglhning <br />atthe lowest rate and wcrking up totha highest. <br />Constant Rate Pumping Test & Recovery Teat - time <br />drawdown and recovery measurements will be <br />made to determine aquifer parameters such as <br />transrnissivity and storativity. It is recommended that <br />the constant rate test be conducted for a minimum of <br />12 hours with � hours of recovery mossuremerits. <br />Our subconaultant, GEOSCIENCE will provide full-time' <br />inspection during pumping and raacvary tests. <br />2. Static Walt Eve)ustion <br />a. Remove Existing Pump and Equipment From Well <br />GEOSCIENCE has teemed with Best Drilling and Pump', <br />1110. (Best) to perform work associated with removal of <br />equipment from the well. Best will remove the existing <br />pumps, motors, and column pipes from the wall -and store <br />this equipment In the Immediate area around the well <br />site. Atthe completion of all activities, Bestwilt reinstall <br />the pump end equipment to their original depths, Durcost <br />proposal for this task includes contractor fees. <br />b, Perform Initial Video inspection <br />once the pump is removed, Pacific Surveys, LLC (Psciflc) <br />under the supervision of GEDSCIENCE personnel, will <br />perforin a dualscsn downhole video survey of the well. <br />The purpose of the video surveys will be to document the <br />nnrrAnt enndition and look for areas of damage and/or <br />plugging.inthe well semen. GEOSCIENCE Will providefidk <br />time"Inspection duringeach video survey. the costforthe: <br />silrvaying Contractor is included In the proposal <br />8. For cost estimating pufposa"sr it <br />)&,assumed that ons round'of comments Will be addressed <br />bafore, a 100% FINAL version is prepared. <br />PHASE 11- WELL REHABILITATION <br />Based on the results of the activities described in Phase <br />I; soave or ali of the following wake may be appropriate <br />for the proper rehabilitation of the Well, Regardless of <br />what tasks are decided upon, it will'.ba necassaryfor <br />the city to eontraet directly with a licensed OW drliling <br />Contractor to perform this Work. The fotlowingscope items <br />are for GEOSCIENCEto assist the city with procuring a <br />qualified Contractor and providing Reid supervision during <br />Contractor activities. <br />d. Project Ccnstmetron Management <br />GEDSCIENCE'wlli provide construction managernent <br />services during Phase II of the well rehabllitattorr to ensure <br />that all aspeots of the project are carried out in a proper <br />and afficlent manner. Construction management activities <br />will include, but not limited to, attending a preconstruction <br />meeting with prospective Contractors, responding to <br />Contractor BFI's, review of Contractor submittals and <br />invoices, review of change order requests, and providing <br />status updates to city personnel. In addition we will ensure <br />that all work is performed to the satisfaction of regulatory <br />agencies. In addition, GEOSCIENCE will assist, as <br />necessary, with the procurement of any permitting required <br />to perform this work, including NPDES requirements. <br />2.
