It is not practical to assign the duties of the vacant <br />position to any other employee or employees in the some <br />or higher classification, <br />4. The City Manager or his or her designee must give written <br />approval of all Temporary Upgrade Assignments involving an <br />increase In pay for the appointee. <br />EI( ibilit <br />Regular, full-time employees shall be eligible to receive <br />Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay if the work assumed <br />encompasses the majority of the typical duties and <br />responsibilities of the vacated higher-level position, and the <br />employee meets the qualifications outlined in B.2, below. <br />a. Employees in the following categories shall not be <br />assigned to Temporary Upgrade work unless specifically <br />authorized by the City Manager: <br />Non -permanent employees (Probationary, Part- <br />time, Seasonal, etc.). <br />ii. Employees performing work above their regular <br />classification in a training capacity. <br />2.
