Mr, Palacio shared that the District spent millions qf dollars Vnneeded Centennial Park <br />capital improvements ranging from a MUlti-story parking garage, sports/recreational <br />facilities, community meeting rooms to a multi-purpose theatre which SAUSD <br />students/staff,the City and the general Public have access to, The Heritage Museum <br />which is available to SAUSD students, the City and the general public, is adjacent to <br />Godinez and located on District property also benefited with needed extensive capital <br />improvements and operational support that the District funded. <br />The city charges the district to use district fields after school, weekends and during <br />summer months. The city also charges the district tuuse city fields/open park spaces <br />during school hours, after school hours, weekends and summer months. <br />Mr. U noandMcpaladoind|cate6thatthenewenenuanyhurd|esonbothsides10 <br />overcome and get the school constructed. <br />Mr. Mmuetindicated hewill work with the City Manager toclarify and provide <br />clarification on this matter. Ms, Amezcua requested a report be provided in 30 days. <br />Mr. Palacio requested clarification on the city use of one ortwo rooms inGodinezHigh <br />School that the city has sole access to, free ofcharge. <br />3A Update on Water Tower Initiative <br />Jorge Garcia indicated City and District exchanged ideas and options. Both prepared <br />appraisals for the sites and one appraisal was over a $1 million difference. Will need to <br />re-evaluate the site area. Discussion ofCounter offer and district unde/u@izahonofthe <br />site was discussed. The City owned water tower which was built in 1928 has been <br />housed free ofcharge onDistrict property, Dr. Phillips indicated weneed 10come upjf <br />anexchange where both sides win. <br />Mr. Tin ' ro indicated the tower identifies the city and added improvernents to lights on <br />the tower helps show pride ofthe community. <br />4.0 Update on City's Youth Services Supervisor <br />GerardoMmuet provided anupdate onthe positionthe City Council approved. The city received <br />331 applicants and are currently going through a selection process. <br />Mr, Benavides indicated this position is to work on partnership with SAUSD to serve Our <br />students. Ms. Amezcua introduced Dr, Suzi Lopez to work with city staff on programs for the <br />children. Requested Dr. Lopez beonthe next agenda toexplain the program, Dr. Lopez <br />indicated she already met with the Superintendent on items the district will be working on. <br />
