28 months of Career & Education Pathways: Staff help youth achieve advanced certifications and enroll in and persist <br />through postsecondary degree programs. Staff conducts career and education workshops in a classroom setting throughout <br />the program: "Going to College I" helps youth research different postsecondary pathways in their field of study; "Going to <br />College II" provides youth the tools to find different means of financial support in their education; "Preparing for the <br />Placement/GED test" prepares students with test -taking guidance and additional tutoringto boost basic skill levels; <br />"Applying for the FAFSA" helps youth complete the application process for financial aid; and, "The Master Student' teaches <br />basic study skills methods, along with goal planning and time management concepts. <br />Up to 24 months of Employment Placement and Retention Services: Staff work with youth to prepare them for the <br />workforce and link them to upwardly mobile careers with a path to a living wage. During training, the Employment <br />Services team teaches employment readiness classes which include: job searching and interviewing techniques, cover <br />letter and resume writing, and mock interviews. At program completion, the team links youth to quality jobs in their <br />industry. As youth enter the workforce, the team provides one- on -one guidance, encouragement and inks to new <br />opportunities for employment progression, wage progression and career advancement. <br />Enroll 17 youth from Santa Ana in its Business Applications programs <br />• 75%of youth who enroll will successfully complete training <br />75%will demonstrate basic skills improvement <br />85%will find employment within one year of training completion <br />40%will enroll in a post -secondary program <br />'formance Measures <br />pe Builders expects youth to achieve the following: <br />Improved workforce preparedness, demonstrated by: 1) achieving hard -skills competency; 2) improving their basic math <br />and/or reading skills by a minimum of one grade level; and, 3) growth in social awareness, self-awareness, self - <br />management and healthy behaviors (as measured on social -emotional assessment tool). <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
