ALBI tracks participation levels and program outcomes which are cross-referenced to pinpoint the areas in need of
reformation and/or additional participation and preparation needed to realize personal goals. ALBI holds high standards
under three main categories to measure program activities and outcomes as outlined below:
1. Program Management/Administration: Effective management and plan for long-term sustainability and growth of
student achievement is the core of ALBI's administration. Well -organized program development, implementation, and
evaluation is enforced. The budget is maintained and adjusted for program resources (equipment, supplies, costumes,
etc.) and a long-term financial plan is in place for sustaining and fostering program growth. High quality teaching artists
that are experts in their fields and have a desire to work with children are hand selected for the program. The result will
be the approach of a quality and appropriate activities for at risk youth to work with guided mentors towards
completion of their goals.
2. Program Activities: The assessments are based on the California Performing Arts Content Standards, Expanded Learning
Programs in Social Emotional Skills and Character Building and the Quality Standards for Expanded Learning in California.
Skill development activities in each discipline of art are based on the Standards and the developmentally appropriate
needs of the students. The curriculum builds in a daily series that begins with foundational skills and technique; they are
then methodically explored and analyzed through a multitude of activities and projects that end with a culminating
performance. Every class encompasses the development of English -Language skills as well as providing opportunities for
children to explore, create and innovate their ideas through art. Students explore a wide variety of techniques and
methods to produce meaningful artworks ready for showcase. For social emotional skill building, students participate in
workshops that identify and develop personal leadership skills, positive attitudes and behaviors that lead to
accomplishment and proud achievements towards a healthy life.
3. Program Evaluation will require two forms of assessments to ensure compliance with grant requirements are met, and
to evaluate students' progress and outcomes in the community. Result findings will include accurate and complete data
and demographics through proper intake and eligibility assessment, tracking of attendance and levels of participation in
all program components, tracking of expenditures and staff time with appropriate source documentation.
Programmatic outcomes are expected to include an increase in communication, team building and technical skills in
performing arts, achievement of personal goals, self and body awareness and confidence and a strong commitment to
respecting self and their community.
'erformance Measures
ALBI's assessment plan to evaluate students' progress and growth focuses on 4 core areas:
a) Intellectual & Academic Success: Assessment measures are based on general vocabulary benchmarks for each grade
level that are aligned with the California Performing Arts Standards. Students will analyze the elements of Performing
Arts through daily lessons & activities. Measured through Pre/Post Written and Physical Assessments
b) Emotional & Social Emotional Skills: Students will explore intrapersonal communication, use personal choices and
practice empathy through daily lessons & SES activities. Measured through student participation and journals.
c) Physical & Healthy Lifestyles: Students will show evidence of dance elements into performances and Students will
exercise daily during dance warm ups & practice learning dance routines. Measured through logging daily exercise
minutes and performance videos.
d) Socialization & Family Engagement: Students will explore interpersonal communication & practice self-confidence
through daily lessons & SES activities. Students will perform for live audience. Measured by documenting parent
involvement for shows.
All participants complete a membership form and their information is entered into a database. Each participant checks in to
every class and activity, which is tracked through a simple excel spreadsheet as well as through our registration and tracking
software. ALBI implemented this practice for our 2017-2018 CDBG and has been able to gather a large volume of data which
can be displayed in charts and graphs to visually demonstrate levels of service and participation. This will help us track
unduplicated numbers of participants and levels of service for each participant.
Feu-Dllr_l
