Sequence of work will address the following: <br />• Cooperation between contractor and City personnel <br />• Dates and durations of construction and all shutdowns to be approved in advance by City <br />In order to prevent flooding. <br />Following sections described specific upgrades and Issues for each pump station. <br />Santa Ana Pump Station <br />The Santa Ana PS was constructed in 1963 as part of the Civic <br />Center Construction Program, and operates during a storm to prevent <br />flooding of the parking structure and southern walkways. The pump <br />station is a vertical concrete structure with a concrete slab separating <br />the lower wet well from the upper dry well. The dry well Is set three <br />feet below grade and houses three pumps and the electrical <br />equipment: the pumps are 60 horsepower (hp), 30 hp, and 15 hp and <br />are driven by electric motors, and the 60 hp pump and motor were <br />replaced in 2016. <br />After thorough review of the existing documents and Scope of Work, <br />Michael Baker has identified the following proposed upgrades to the <br />Santa Ana Pump Station: <br />• Pump and motor replacement: remove and replace the two <br />(2) older pumps, and keep the larger pump installed in 2016. <br />Replace all three (3) of the existing pump motors with <br />explosion proof motors. <br />• Sump pump replacement: Remove the existing sump pump and replace with a %z hp <br />explosion proof, solids handling sump pump. <br />• Piping and valve replacement: Remove and replace the existing piping and valves In kind. <br />• Structural improvements: Patch the existing concrete structure, seal penetrations, and <br />provide Basketed roof seals. Remove and replace the metal enclosures over Isolation <br />valves. <br />• Mechanical Improvements: install a new HVAC system and seal openings between the <br />wet well and dry well to declassify the dry well and comply with NFPA 820 requirements. <br />• Electrical improvements: Remove and replace the existing electrical equipment to comply <br />with NEC and NFPA 820 requirements. <br />• SCADA: The existing RTU Panel, which provides monitoring and alarming signals to the <br />City's SCADA system, will remain as is.
