4lo SOUTHLAND
INTEGRATED SERVICES, INC.
May 3, 2018
Santa Ana Arts and Culture Commission
City of Santa Ana
20 Civic Center Plaza
M-25, 6th Floor
Santa Ana, CA 9270
Dear Members of the Santa Ana Arts and Culture Commission,
On behalf of Southland Integrated Services, Inc. (formerly known as Vietnamese Community of
Orange County) , I am pleased to submit this letter in support of the Orange County Children's
Therapeutic Arts Center's (OCCTAC) application to the Investing in the Artist Grant Program.
OCCTAC's proposed project, "Santa Ana Multicultural Family Festival" is a great opportunity
to celebrate cultural diversity and educate the Santa Ana community about the diverse cultural
and ethnic traditions in Santa Ana!
We are excited to partner with OCCTAC to support this Multicultural Family Festival in Santa
Ana and feature musical and dance performances from the Vietnamese community living in Santa Ana.
This unique venture is an exciting opportunity to expose diverse segments of Santa Ana's
population, as well as to educate the community as to the value of world music and dance, and
the role that the arts plays in contemporary cultural identity.
Also, the proposed project will serve to educate others and bring awareness of the cultural
richness in Santa Ana, as well as educate the Santa Ana community about the power of the Arts
to bring diverse communities together!
As a partner in the proposed project, Southland Integrated Services is committed to assisting
OCCTAC with the event promotion and community outreach in Santa Ana and Orange County.
Southland Integrated Services expresses full support for the Orange County Children's
Therapeutic Arts Center. We think it has the potential to reach a large, diverse segment of Santa
Ana's population, and to bring together diverse communities to celebrate the Santa Ana
Multicultural Family Festival! Thank you for your consideration of OCCTAC's proposed
event/project.
Sincerely,
lAwtc- -
Tricia Nguyen
Chief Executive Officer
Southland Integrated Services, Inc.
