May 1, 2018
City of Santa Ana
Investing in the Artist Grant Administration
Community Development Agency M-25
20 Civic Center Plaza, 6`h Floor
Santa Ana, CA 92701
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing on behalf of the 8,100 residents represented by the Delhi Neighborhood Association
in support of Delhi Center's application for the Cultural History Project. This project is an
opportunity to showcase the historical heritage of the Delhi Neighborhood. The Cultural History
Project is a treasure waiting to be uncovered, it will require the help and teamwork of the entire
neighborhood and we are ready to showcase the beautiful history of where we live today.
My own ancestry can be traced back to the Delhi Neighborhood as early as 1929 as both my
mother and father were born and raised in this remarkable neighborhood. There are many other
longtime residents whose lineage can be traced to this historic neighborhood in Santa Ana as
well. Delhi residents support the Cultural History Project as this is the perfect opportunity to
preserve the rich and cultural history of the Delhi 'Neighborhood once known as Gloryetta.
I am very excited Delhi Center has chosen to spearhead this project. Delhi Center is a staple
within our community. Since 1969, Delhi Center has been an organization embedded within our
community, They provide a space for all the residents to meet and make Delhi residents a
priority. Delhi Center is the perfect venue to place a permanent display of Delhi Neighborhood's
cultural history as it can reach not only the local Delhi residents but residents from all across
Santa Ana.
As the President of the Delhi Neighborhood Association and longtime resident, I hope you take
into consideration the application for Delhi Center's Cultural History Project. It would be an
honor for the Delhi Neighborhood to be recognized by receiving the grant to highlight the rich
cultural history of the City of Santa Ana.
Sincerel
Vivian Martinez, President
Delhi Neighborhood Association
