The Hearing closed. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Director of Planning and Building Thai clarified request is to have the zoning be <br />consistent with the General Plan. <br />Planning Manager Neal pointed out that in accordance with the current zoning, <br />the majority of the site is C5 which is existing, non -conforming thus, school is <br />allowed in the location by right. <br />• School use allowed by right in the Arterial Commercial (C-5) <br />zoning district and is not affected by this action. <br />• Proposed action is intended to clean-up Inconsistent zoning <br />and general plan land use designations. <br />• Approval of the amendment application will make the zoning <br />consistent with the General Plan designation of General <br />Commercial. <br />• Proposal is consistent with goals and objectives of the General <br />Plan. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 21 JULY 17, 2018 <br />1 OA -21 <br />
