APPROVE DONATION AGREEMENT WITH VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS TO <br />SUPPORT COMMUNITY EVENTS AND PROGRAMS {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 5, <br />4} – City Council <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the <br />Council to execute agreements with various organizations in support of their <br />community events and programs, subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by <br />the City Manager and the City Attorney, as follows: <br /> <br />a. Child Creativity Lab in support of the Girl Scout STEAM Conference for young <br />women in Santa Ana on December 8, 2018, in a one-time donation amount of <br />$1,000 (Mayor Pro Tem Martinez); <br /> <br />b. Santa Ana Unidos Boxing Club in support of the Roses in the Concrete <br />Education and Arts Festival that occurred August 25, 2018, in a one-time <br />donation amount of $500 (Councilmember Sarmiento). <br /> <br /> <br />29B. APPROVE INSURANCE RENEWALS WITH BIG INDEPENDENT CITIES <br />EXCESS POOL, PUBLIC ENTITY PROPERTY INSURANCE PROGRAM AND <br />CALIFORNIA STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. <br />4,1} } – Human Resources Department <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTIONS: <br /> <br />1. Approve the City’s continued membership in the Big Independent Cities Excess <br />Pool Liability Program from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 at an estimated <br />premium cost not to exceed $3,700,000. <br /> <br />2. Approve the City’s continued membership in the Big Independent Cities Excess <br />Pool Workers’ Compensation Program from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 at an <br />estimated premium not to exceed $400,000. <br /> <br />3. Approve the City’s continued participation in the Public Entity Property <br />Insurance Program from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 at an estimated premium <br />cost not to exceed $690,000. <br /> <br />4.
