Proposal to provide <br />Landscape Architectural Design for sth & Lacy Park - RFP No. 18-038 <br />Task 16 — Construction Details <br />DEA will prepare construction details for hardscape <br />elements, site furnishings (if necessary), planting <br />and irrigation components. In most instances, <br />footing details and calculations (if necessary) for <br />pre -fabricated items such as picnic shelters and play <br />equipment will be provided by the manufacturer. <br />For Items such as the restroom and picnic structure, <br />the structural drawings and calculations will be a <br />deferred submittal that will be provided as part of the <br />construction submittal process once the contractor <br />purchases the structure. <br />Deiverables: Construction details as noted above. <br />Task 17 — Technical Specifications <br />DEA will prepare technical specifications for each <br />of the components in CSI format. City staff will be <br />responsible for combining these specifications with <br />the City -provided boiler plate information such as <br />general conditions, special provisions, notice inviting <br />bids etc. <br />Deliverables: Preparation of technical specifications <br />Task 16 — Final Opinion of Probable Cost <br />The project team will prepare a final construction <br />cost estimate in a per unit basis (or lump sum) of <br />proposed park improvements once the construction <br />documents have been completed to 100% This <br />format will directly match the contractor bid schedule <br />for ease of comparison. The estimate will be in <br />tabular form for each construction item indicating <br />quantity, unit, unit price, and total cost. <br />Deliverables: Construction Cost Estimate, <br />Task 19 — Plan Submittals and Approval Process <br />The construction documents will be prepared in <br />accordance with the 2013 California Building Code <br />and ADA. These plans will be submitted to the <br />City Planning and Building Departments for review <br />and approval. Plans will be signed by a licensed <br />professional as appropriate. DEA will submit the <br />90% completed plans for review by the Public Works <br />Design and Construction Engineering Divisions. <br />Tb,a 10011/o plans will then be submitted for final <br />review and approval by the Parks, Recreation and <br />Commbi;+,ity Services Agency, the Planning and <br />Building Agency and Public Works Agency. This task <br />includes two sets of revisions based on plan check <br />comments, <br />Deliverables: Submil.tal, review, and revisions <br />associated with obtaining project approval as noted <br />above. <br />BID ADVERTISEMENT, CONSTRUCTION <br />ADMINISTRATION & RECORD DRAWINGS <br />Task 20 — Bid Advertisement <br />DEA will attend the pre -bid meeting and will provide <br />responses to bid RFI's and assist with answering <br />questions, and providing clarification if conflicts <br />arise. Each item will be reviewed by the City prior to <br />release of information. <br />Deliverables: Attendance at pre -bid meeting and bid <br />assistance as noted above and per the level of effort <br />noted in our fee schedule. <br />Task 21 — Construction Administration <br />DEA's construction management team will answer <br />questions, review submittals, shop drawings <br />and schedules required `to be submitted by the <br />contractor for conformance with the design plans <br />and specifications'. The DEAteam will review <br />and respond to RFI's and clarifications during <br />construction within five business days of receipt, We <br />understand that the City will handle the day to day <br />construction management process. <br />DEA has anticipated the hours denoted in the fee <br />schedule for each of the respective disciplines. <br />Please note that this task shall require compensation <br />on a time and materials basis in accordance with the <br />level of effort required 1 desired. The fees for this task <br />are shown for budgetary purposes only and shall be <br />determined prior to the start of construction to allow <br />the City to decide how best to utilize the DEA team <br />resources along with their own staffing. At this time, it <br />is difficult to determine the level of effort for the tasks <br />listed and therefore we recommend negotiating this <br />task once the contractor has been selected and prior <br />to construction. <br />Deliverables: Construction administration on a times <br />and materials basis. <br />Task 22 — Record Drawings 1 As Built Plans <br />Utilizing General Contractor provided red lines, DEA <br />will incorporate As Built information into the drawing <br />files such that we can provide the City with 'Record <br />Drawings'. We will modify our digital files in order to <br />provide updated prints for the as -built drawings that <br />can be routed internally for City signatures are. <br />Deliverables: One set of As Built plans based on <br />contractor provided red lines. <br />David svans and Associates, Inc.
