Agreement with Smartcover Systems, for Remote Alarm <br />Monitoring and Management Services <br />November 20, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />SmartCover® units as well as the acquisition of additional units. The additional units will be deployed <br />at strategic locations throughout the City as identified by staff. <br />Staff recommends awarding a contract to SmartCover Systems, for continued use and expansion <br />of the technology and sensors in the field. The SmartCover® technology has successfully provided <br />remote alarm management services to the City, and the firm has the resources and experience to <br />continue the required level of service. The SmartCover® system has been effective and has <br />enhanced the City's ability to comply with the State's Wastewater Discharge Requirements. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 — Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City assets), <br />Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing infrastructure to <br />protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Sanitary Sewer Service account (No. 05617640-62300) and will be <br />budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
