FOR ASPHALT <br />STREET MAINTENANCE <br />(SPECIFICATION NO. 18-084) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1C) <br />CITY I NAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Hardy & Harper, Inc. for asphalt street maintenance for a one-year period, with <br />provisions for four, one-year renewals exercisable by the City Manager, in an annual amount not to <br />exceed $990,000, subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Maintenance Services Division is responsible for maintaining approximately 400 <br />miles of roadway within the City of Santa Ana. Services provided under the asphalt street <br />maintenance contract include the repair of existing roadway pavement, crack sealing and concrete <br />repairs. In addition, the contract provides for water and sewer system maintenance by performing <br />utility service trench repairs, water valve box repairs and adjustment of manhole frames and covers <br />to grade. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on September 24, 2018, on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system.
