Agreement with Sedaru, Inc. for Computer Water Modeling <br />Licensing and Support Services <br />December 4, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />improvements. The water enterprise requires ongoing licensing and support of the SEDARU <br />software and its various suites to optimize the following operational, engineering and managerial <br />tasks: <br />1. Continued hydraulic simulations and recalibration of the model; <br />2. Review of proposed development projects and ability of City to meet user needs; <br />3. Analysis pipeline deficiencies for replacement projects; <br />4. Simulations of water production controls; <br />5. Track, trend, monitor and report on system production and energy usage; <br />6. Plan capital improvement projects; and <br />7. Provide predictive water operational simulations to determine water quality within the <br />system and potentially reduce field related water quality sampling. <br />Staff recommends that the agreement be approved in order to continue to utilize modern <br />technology for the effective management of the City's water system. Sedaru, Inc. has performed <br />exceptionally well, has delivered a comprehensive water model and met all of the City's <br />requirements. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing <br />infrastructure to protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Water Administration and Engineering Account (06017645-62300) and <br />will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years.
