Open Space Element December 4, 2018 <br />GOAL 2: Provide a system of parks, open spaces, and <br />community centers that are well-maintained, safe, and <br />healthy environments for all users. <br />Policy 2.1 Safety. Create a safe environment through implementation of crime prevention <br />through environmental design (CPTED) principles in public spaces. I H <br />Policy 2.2 Neighborhood Engagement. Encourage residents, neighborhood groups, <br />businesses, schools, organizations, and public agencies to partner in the creation and <br />maintenance of safe and well maintained publicly -owned park and recreation facilities. <br />H, Eq, Ed <br />Policy 2.3 Hazardous Materials. Reduce or eliminate, as feasible, the use of pesticides and <br />herbicides that negatively impact human health at park facilities and publicly accessible <br />open spaces.
