Open Space Element <br />December 4, 2018 <br />GOAL 3: Preserve, expand, and create additional open <br />space areas and linkages throughout the City to protect <br />the natural and visual character of the community, and <br />to connect to local and regional activity centers. <br />Policy 3.1 Recreational Corridors. Establish and maintain an integrated recreational and multi- <br />modal commuter corridor network linking open spaces, housing, community services, <br />and employment centers. Promote bicycle and pedestrian linkages and amenities <br />throughout new and existing development to promote use of alternative modes of <br />transportation and active lifestyles. Coordinate with government and private sector to explore <br />opportunities to incorporate pedestrian, multi -modal, and landscape amenities along the <br />OC Streetcar route, flood control channels, and other underutilized sites.
