Dick as
well as bring widespread attention to the fact that he spent his final years living in Santa Ana,
There has been a resurgence of interest in Philip K. Dick's work with the recent release of Blade Runner
2049, and OC Film Fiesta plans to further honor the writer's vision by launching a multicultural dystopian
science fiction film challenge and bring the Philip K. Dick Film Festival Itself to Santa Ana in 2019. These
are imaginative, exciting and ambitious plans. They also exemplify MASA's openness to new ideas and
eagerness to collaborate with other organizations, which it does frequently in our community,
MASA's OC Film Fiesta has become an important festival over the course of the past 9 years, proving its
staying power through programming that is of consistently high quality. It provides a unique and
valuable service to the Santa Ana community, offering innovative community screenings with a focus on
relevance to the local population. It has also been committed to accessibility through affordable ticket
pricing and by offering free Sunday matinees for Santa Ana families.
This is a great project for the City of Santa Ana to invest in through grant support, and MASA can be
counted upon to deliver a quality product for the community and manage the funds In a way that is both
efficient and accountable to the public.
I hope that you will award them this grant.
Sincere
Richard Stein
President & CEO
