PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE FIRE/EMS EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION & RELATED SERVICES <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />(D) Employee Recruitment, Screening and Orientation <br />Recruitment <br />If there was only one function a manager could control to provide high-quality ambulance <br />service, it would be recruitment. By starting with only qualified and motivated candidates, the <br />remainder of the management process is simplified, allowing management to focus on quality <br />improvement. <br />The majority of our job applicants are experienced EMT personnel, drawn to Care Ambulance <br />Service because of our core values, working conditions and comprehensive wage and benefits <br />package. <br />It is the policy of Care Ambulance Service to be fair and impartial to all employees and <br />applicants for employment, without regard to race, religion, age, gender, color, ethnic or <br />national origin, marital status, genetic information, sexual orientation or ancestry. Consequently, we are painstakingly careful about recruiting the right <br />people to provide outstanding clinical and customer service to our patients. <br />Screening <br />Just as it is critically important to attract top quality personnel, it is also essential to be able to <br />recognize and select them for employment. Care Ambulance Service EMT candidates are <br />required to complete the following candidate screening process. This process is very stringent <br />and modeled after the same selection criteria used by local fire departments and law <br />enforcement agencies. <br />• Credential Verification: EMT candidates are required to submit proof of a valid EMT <br />certification, Orange County EMT Accreditation, CPR Card, California Driver's License and <br />a California Ambulance Driver's Certificate with a Medical Examiner's Certificate. <br />Driving History: All EMT candidates must provide a current DMV Report of their Driving <br />Record.
