PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE FIRE/EMS EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION & RELATED SERVICES <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />ITEM 9: CORPORATE COMPLIANCE PLAN <br />Care Ambulance has adopted a Corporate Compliance Plan to reflect our commitment to <br />highest ethical standards and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Care's plan <br />meets and exceeds all recommendations established by the Office of Inspector General's <br />Compliance Program Guidance for Ambulance Suppliers, as published in the Federal Register. <br />The plan has been adopted by Care's Board of Directors by Board Resolution and provides <br />standards by which all employees and managers of Care Ambulance will conduct themselves in <br />order to protect and promote integrity throughout the company and to enhance Care's ability <br />to achieve organizational goals. The Compliance Plan is structured to achieve specific <br />objectives, which are outlined below along with key components of each section of the Plan: <br />Legal Compliance Objective: Ensure all activity by or on behalf of the organization is in <br />compliance with all applicable laws. This standard is intended to provide guidance to <br />employees and management, to assist them in their obligation to comply with applicable laws. <br />These standards are neither exclusive nor complete. If questions regarding the existence, <br />interpretation or application of any law arise, they are directed to Care Ambulance Service's <br />legal counsel. This section covers: <br />• Fraud and Abuse <br />• Antitrust <br />• Environmental <br />• Discrimination <br />Business Ethics Objective: Employees accurately and honestly represent Care Ambulance <br />Service and do not engage in any activity or scheme intended to defraud anyone of money, <br />property or honest services. The Standards set forth below are designed to provide guidance to <br />employees to ensure that Care's business activities reflect the highest standards of business <br />ethics and integrity. This section covers: <br />• Honest Communication <br />• Misappropriation of Proprietary Information <br />• Fraud and Abuse <br />Confidentiality Objective: Maintain the confidentiality of patient and other confidential <br />information in accordance with applicable legal and ethical standards. Every Care Ambulance <br />employee has an obligation to actively protect and safeguard confidential, sensitive and <br />proprietary information in a manner designed to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of such <br />information.
