Guevara <br />Executive Director <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />PLANNING COMMISSION SECRETARY <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />DENIED <br />❑ Applicant's Request <br />❑ Staff Recommendation <br />CONTINUED TO <br />Planning Manager <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning Ordinance Amendment <br />(ZOA) No. 2018-04 to amend several sections of Chapter 41 (Zoning) of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code (SAMC) and sections of Specific Development No. 19 (SD-19)/French Park and <br />Specific Development No. 40 (SD -40)/ Heninger Park. <br />Executive Summary <br />The City of Santa Ana is requesting approval of several amendments to Chapter 41 (Zoning),of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) to provide greater oversight and public input for certain <br />developments, streamline certain processes, clarify and revise certain language and standards, <br />and update outdated code provisions to address current development, economic and housing <br />trends. <br />Protect Background <br />In 2017, the City began a series of zoning code revisions intended to streamline the development <br />process and update outdated development standards. The latest amendments were approved by <br />City Council in November 2017. The proposed amendments included in ZOA No. 2018-04 continue <br />this effort. <br />Prolect Description and Analysis <br />Staff is proposing to amend several sections of Chapter 41 (Zoning) of the SAMC and sections of <br />SD -19 and SD -40.
