Authorize an Agreement with Kapsch Traffic Com USA, Inc. for SCADA System Maintenance <br />January 15, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />TrafficCom USA, Inc., be retained to provide all required upgrades, system maintenance, and <br />programming improvements for a continued reliable system. This agreement (Exhibit 1) will also <br />provide ongoing telephone support, staff training, as well as on-site system maintenance, when <br />requested. <br />During the term of this agreement, staff will be investigating other software solutions for a potential <br />transition to a newer system. The procurement process is scheduled to begin in fiscal year (FY) <br />2019/20. Approval of this Council action will provide for continued SCADA services until <br />replacement software is identified. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 - Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy C (invest resources and technology to extend the service life of existing <br />infrastructure to protect the City's investment and support a high quality of life standard). <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funding is available in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Water Production and Supply Contract Services - <br />Professional Account (No. 06017640-62300) and will be budgeted in subsequent fiscal years. <br />Funds will be spent according to the estimated spending plan below: <br />FISCAL YEAR <br />FY 2018/19 (January — June) <br />AMOUNT <br />$35,000 <br />FY 2019/20 (July — June) <br />$50,000 <br />FY 2020/21 (July —June) <br />$50,000 <br />FY 2021/22 (July — June) <br />$50,000 <br />FY 2022/23 (July — June) <br />$50,000 <br />FY 2023/24 (July — January) <br />$15,000 <br />TOTAL: <br />$250,000 <br />25F-2 <br />
