Monthly CIP Executive Report for January 2019 <br />February 5, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />the Raitt Street project will take place after the OC Streetcar project is constructed at the Raitt <br />crossing, which may take up to 3 years. <br />Raitt Street Slurry and Resurfacing (Edinger to McFadden) <br />This project is currently in the design phase with a completion timeframe tentatively scheduled for <br />Summer 2019. The project includes the repair, replacement, and construction of curb & gutter, <br />sidewalk and curb ramp, and application of crack seal, slurry seal and resurfacing of asphalt <br />concrete on Raitt Street from Edinger Avenue to McFadden Avenue. Construction will follow the <br />design -engineering phase and is anticipated to begin in Summer 2019. <br />C -5-F Channel Assessment between Newhope and Harbor <br />The winter storm in January 2017 damaged a drainage channel, identified as C -5-F, located <br />south of First Street between Newhope Street and Harbor Boulevard. The channel runs parallel <br />to and south of First Street. Staff has been working with the Federal Emergency Management <br />Agency (FEMA) and the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to secure <br />Federal/State funding for repair work to the drainage channel related to that storm. The channel <br />repair scope of work includes removal and replacement of damaged sections caused by the <br />January 2017 storm event. A Notice of Obligation authorizing Federal/State funding has been <br />issued and the project is currently in the design phase. We don't anticipate further damage by <br />the current winter season, and staff is looking forward to the start of construction Summer of <br />2019. <br />General Water Main and Sewer Main Progress Report <br />This project is in the design phase and shall be completed in February 2019. The project includes <br />the replacement of 6,300 linear feet of the existing 6" and 8" vitrified clay pipe (VCP) with an 8" <br />and 10" polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These construction improvements include sewer related <br />appurtenances such as: sewer manholes and sewer laterals. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />This item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 — Community Health, Livability, Engagement <br />& Sustainability, Objective #1 (establish a comprehensive community engagement initiative to <br />expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an active role in <br />discussing public policy and setting priorities). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The". no fiscal impact associated with this item <br />O <br />Fuad S`8iss, PE, PLS <br />Executive(rector <br />Public Wor Agency <br />Exhibit: 1.
